Love the car, own a 2017 MKZ, but very worried about needing to replace the engine. Just found out that 2017 to 2019. 2.0 L EcoBoost engines have design issues where coolant could infiltrate into the cylinders. I've got a cylinder misfire code over the past weekend, which has me quite anxious now.

I've had my '18 Reserve Hybrid since December 2023. I like the car but I'm so disappointed in the build quality as it relates to squeaks and rattles primarily coming from the top padding of the rear doors and a rattle somewhere inside the left rear door. For being a $47K+ vehicle at the time I expect a lot better. Our other '18 Lincoln/Ford vehicles don't have these kinds of issues. A '16 MKZ 3.7 I test drove had zero squeaks and rattles. Even my former '01 Oldsmobile Aurora had less squeaks and rattles... anyone else have these issues?

I remember on a different video about one of the MKZ’s that it was mentioned which 2017 Lincoln engine we should probably try to avoid… all I can remember about it was that it was ones manufactured until January 2018 if I recall correctly. The sylvania - SSU don’t last. Oem or sylvania basic halogen bulbs lasted 5-6 years. With H11 SSU, they will last 1.5Y. They are 27% brighter and 16% whiter than stock. For H11 it’s 200/250. For 9006, it’s a better 300 hours lifespans. So it’s possible it can possibly atleast 2 years.

My 2006 GMC Envoy w/5.3 is a $9,000+ money pit. It still doesnt maintain (10+psi) oil pressure when warm even after rebuilding the engine and doing both a mechanical afm delete and turning AFM off in the ecm.

Im replacing the same thing the $50 value control but you said there was electrical unit on it. Is it on the replacing part or on the $200 part because my control valve don't have a connection for electrical. Please help family car has been down for a year now

I actually have to agree with everything you've said! Definitely agree with your opinion on the V8 compared to the new V6 engines and we arent alone..they feel and sound more effortless... definitely prefer the 2012-16 frontend of the MKZ!! looking for a 3.7 in those years..the only American car Im interested in..more of a Toyota/Lexus. Or Honda/Acura fan myself

I would also like to own a 1995-99 Buick Rivera - the sister car to the Aurora. It is a coupe and has great cushioned seats. Also, it has the great 3.8-liter GM engine, which is much more durable than the NorthStar. It was also available with a supercharger for 240 HP.

When you take it to a service center for an oil change, they seldom have conventional oil in stock. They only usually carry full synthetic oil in stock. You may have to supply your own conventional oil if you can find it. My 1995 Aurora came with green coolant, and I replace it every two years. The last time I had the coolant serviced, the dealer used Dexcool - red coolant. When I questioned then, they said GM service bulletin recommended this change. Coolant is now good for an extended period compared to the green coolant. My Aurora has 60,000 miles on the odometer. I would love to get a set of the chrome wheels.
